Prevention Toybox
The Prevention Toybox includes games and discussion activities designed to support preventionists in their efforts to envision, implement and evaluate prevention activities at the higher levels of the social ecology. The games employ multiple learning methods (including discussion, visual and kinesthetic activities) to engage audiences in exploring and practicing key prevention concepts.
The toybox games are helpful for translating complex prevention concepts in concrete and engaging ways.
"We have had success in using these games with members of our domestic and sexual violence service agencies and also with the community coalitions with whom we partner on prevention solutions."
Note: These games were not created for the purpose of educating potential victims about the dynamics of healthy and unhealthy relationships. Rather, target audiences are our own organizational staff members and community partners as we collaborate to re-conceptualize our prevention work beyond changing individual-level knowledge and attitudes to focusing on promoting safe, equitable and respectful community environments that deter multiple forms of violence.
