Coaching with Courage leverages the power of sports and the influence of coaches to create a positive sports culture and help young athletes develop healthy non-violent relationships to thrive in sports and in life. The program walks coaches through the areas of youth development that contribute to healthy relationships. As coaches move from one quarter of the program to the next, they will learn specific actions and activities to help athletes build healthy relationships.

Coaching with Courage is a modular training program divided into four “quarters” that explore the areas of youth development that contribute to healthy relationships. Topics include:

  • Quarter 1: Individuality and Trust
  • Quarter 2: Showing Empathy and Encouraging Ownership
  • Quarter 3: Active Listening and Healthy Interactions
  • Quarter 4: Learning from Mistakes and Supporting Growth

This training resource enhances social-emotional learning (SEL), promotes trauma responsive coaching, and works to create equitable environments.

Access the training modules from the Coaching with Courage website. For questions, contact CoachingWithCourage@FuturesWithoutViolence.org.
