Comprised of and led by young women activists, School Girls Unite works to address human rights issues such as gender equality, universal basic education, and child marriage prevention.

School Girls Unite seeks “to tackle prejudice against girls worldwide and expand their freedom and opportunities through education and leadership.” Young activists build support and awareness through planning events, engaging in policy advocacy, public speaking and working with the Global Campaign for Education and the United Nations.

The Activist Gameplan was written by and for young activists and is their newest resource. It may be downloaded for free on the website.

School Girls Unite was founded by young women and remains youth led and youth driven. The website includes a variety of supportive materials that are free and downloadable, including facts about the education crisis and what School Girls Unite and other organizations are doing to address it globally. The Activist Gameplan is highly translatable to other social justice issues. It is a short but comprehensive guide that young activists can use to jumpstart their own School Girls Unite campaign. It could also be used as a “how to” for youth activists who wish to plan campaigns that address other social justice issues. Particularly helpful are the sections that help girls prepare to Speak up to a Leader with tips on how to prepare for a meeting, and how to form a team.
