Rethinking Schools
Rethinking Schools, a nonprofit publisher and advocacy organization, is dedicated to sustaining and strengthening public education through social justice teaching and education activism. Its resources include magazines, books, and other tools that teachers can use to promote equity and racial justice in the classroom.
Rethinking Schools is an activist publication and is committed to promoting equity through education believing that “public education is central to the creation of a humane, caring, multiracial democracy. Resources are tailored to teachers, parents and students and involve discussion about classroom practice as well as educational theory."
Domestic violence and sexual assault prevention educators working with schools will find insightful articles and hands on lessons that are appropriate when designing lessons that help to promote youth leadership, foster activism and civic engagement and reinforce lessons around gender and racial equity and other social justice issues.
