Prevent IPV Webinar Announcement: Building Movement Synergy
Register now for the PreventIPV Summer Webinar:
Building Movement Synergy: Engaging advocates and movement makers in primary prevention
Tuesday, July 28th at 2PM Eastern, 1PM Central, 11AM Pacific
Before antiviolence programs and coalitions can provide effective leadership to prevent intimate partner violence (IPV), we must build internal commitment and consider how primary prevention work can serve to strengthen our approaches to intervention. The PreventIPV project has engaged advocates and preventionists in focus groups and interviews to gain insight into what works - and what is needed - in order to best make the case for prevention to our own movement minds.
Join us as we explore strategies for building prevention capacity and sustaining and expanding our prevention-based movements. We will also discuss how the process of investing in primary prevention supports a more robust service-delivery system as well as strategies for effectively messaging to and engaging movement makers and allies in the work to prevent IPV.
Presenters include:
- Liz Cascone, Advocacy Manager at the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance
- Jonathan Yglesias, Prevention Practice Advisor at the PreventIPV Project
