Fall 2020 Newsletter: Advancing Our Collective Liberation

Date:
Tuesday, 8 December 2020

"We need to build an entirely new table with all the communities we want to serve.” – Cecily Johnson, Domestic Violence Network

This issue of the PreventIPV newsletter offers inspiration for moving forward, sharing takeaways and action steps from recent national gatherings and observances including the National Prevention Town Hall and Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2020. These resources support bold new directions for our movement – those that prioritize collective, inclusive, heart-centered approaches built on authenticity, equity, shared power, community care, and mutual accountability. This requires more than making space at the table. It is about starting anew, with clear intention and purpose.

Together, we must respond to this clear call to action:

“This moment in time is a call for transformation – a critical opportunity to revisit the roots of our movement to end gender-based violence in ways that can purposefully restore humanity for all.” – Meeting this Moment: Meaningful Engagement for Social Change during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Beyond
