“Tell your story and change the world!”

Meet Ishita Srivastava, a producer and deputy program director at the global human rights group Breakthrough, who’s newest project “The G Word” is using the power of storytelling to change social norms and promote gender equality. Ishita, who grew up in India and has been at the helm of social justice activities before, has used her interest in the media and pop culture to launch a social media platform that “collects and connects” personal stories from all across the world. These stories reflect on rigid social norms and issues of gender and identity and what everyday people are doing to challenge them.
